What are the Differences Between SEO and SEM?

SEM is short for Search Engine Marketing.

It’s a widely know standard that SEM, or Search Engine Marketing, covers Pay per Click advertising and other forms of payment marketing in the search engines.

Many will also say that SEM includes SEO because SEO also can be labeled as a form of search engine marketing.

In White Shark Media we understand the confusion the two terms can cause and have chosen to differentiate SEM in PPC and let SEO be SEO.
