We Are Sponsoring Our Local WordCamp

This year during our annual Kick-Off, we committed at a company level to give back to the community. In such a competitive world, we have managed to grow more and more every day. So we set the goal to help other local businesses do the same. This is why White Shark Media is a proud sponsor of WordCamp Managua 2019.

Why Is This a Milestone We Want to Share with You?

This year, the WordPress Managua Community is hosting the fourth edition of the WordCamp Managua. Sponsoring this event opens up doors to over 300 attendees and offers an array of different opportunities such as expanding their network at a global level.

WordCamps are community-organized events that are coordinated by WordPress users like our web department and strategist. These events are global conferences happening all over the world and hosted by local communities just like ours.

Since 2006, there have been 978 WordCamps in over 70 cities across six continents, each dedicated to improving the websites that are hosted by WordPress.com or WordPress.org

As WordPress is a content management system, the main objectives of these events are to:

  • Share information to update attendees on the digital industries’ trends
  • Focus on open source softwares and its’ improvements
  • Suggest new tools to boost sales and grow businesses reach
  • Provide useful techniques at the SEO and SEM levels

As daily WordPress users, we found these events are a great way to share our knowledge and learn best practices from local and global speakers that we will implement to coding and strategy.

WordCamps formats vary based on the local communities that produce them. WCMGA2019 will consist of five main categories: SEO & SEM, Marketing, Development, Entrepreneurship & Open Source Communities, and Design.

Sharks Are Speaking at the Camp

Learning requires both sharing and listening. White Shark Media will be represented by 6 amazing Sharks at this fourth edition. Speakers include our VP of Product, Francisco Lacayo, our L&D leadership, Claudio Dominguez and Grecia Morales, one of our designers, Pedro Cuadra, one of our Digital Marketing Strategist, Yamil Abud, and one of our Strategic Marketing Analyst, Adriana Marquez.

Each of them will share best practices in digital environments. Some of these include: (1) how to be found in search, (2) how to re-engage with consumers (3) identify processes to design solutions, (4) holistic marketing strategies, and (5) how to take advantage of new technologies such as AI.

Providing Job Opportunities

We will also have a small Job Fair! Recruiting the most capable individuals is something that makes us proud. Our People Ops team will have a stand welcoming all those potential sharks attending the event. We’ll be receiving applications and sharing swag with the attendees, other sponsors, organizers, and speakers.

Our Takeaways

We are thrilled to be part of this event this upcoming May 24th and 25th. Our team will connect with the event sponsors such as Kinsta, JetPack, WooCommerce, Siteground, GreenGeeks, GoDaddy among others. We are sure our team and the community will enjoy the experience and the insights it will provide.
